Creating a new project

Hi, I’m using the APM32F407RG. I will use SA Eclipse as the IDE. I watched the video on YouTube, but I couldn’t find any information on how to create a project from scratch. How can I create a project from scratch with Eclipse? (New -> Project -> C -> selecting the processor, etc. doesn’t show up.)

Hi, you can choose one Example project from any SDK and Import it on Eclipse IDE.

You can check our online tutorials and get the OpenOCD with Geehy components after importing an example, to activate the compiler & debugger driver correctly:

All the examples are based on existing projects. But I want to create a project from scratch—how can I do that?

our examples are intentionally minimal. If you want to create a project from scratch, please start from the provided “Template” in sdk. In that template the files main.c and apm32f40x_int.c are left empty — they contain only the minimal setup needed for Eclipse to build. To make a new project, just simply copy/rename the project

Geehy , thank you for answer, I managed to debug it — not completely from scratch, but by working through the examples. I have another question: I’m using the APM32F407 series. In the examples, there are only board-specific ones for the F407VG. However, on my other board I’m using the F407VE version. How can I find and add examples specifically for the F407VE?, I use “APM32F4xx_SDK_V1.5.2”

hi 😊 you usually do not need to find separate examples for the F407VE. The “VG” and “VE” variants are almost identical architecturally. here is a quick start guide you can basically follow 👇

Hello, since both APM32F407RG and APM32F407VE are part of the APM32F407 family, they share the same User Manual, code base, and IDE settings.

For your software development:

You do not need to worry about which specific model (e.g., RG, or VE) is used in the Example project.
We recommend using the Example’s default configuration directly.

Please ensure you use the “APM32F4xx_1024.FLM” Flash programming algorithm.

The only difference between the APM32F407xE and APM32F407xG variants is the maximum Flash capacity; otherwise, they are functionally identical for development purposes.
